How to Make a Low-Cost Mushroom Fruiting Chamber

A fruiting chamber creates the perfect environment for mushrooms to grow.

**Materials:**

– Large clear plastic tote

– Drill with 1/4” bit

– Perlite

– Spray bottle

– Hygrometer

**Steps:**

1. Drill holes evenly on all sides, including the lid and base, about 2 inches apart.

2. Rinse perlite and spread 2–3 inches in the bottom of the tote.

3. Place mushroom grow blocks or cakes on a rack above the perlite.

4. Mist and fan 2–3 times a day to keep humidity high.

5. Monitor with a hygrometer; aim for 85–95% humidity.

**Tip:** Use indirect light, not direct sunlight, to trigger fruiting.
